Curly Leaf Rosette Water Lettuce is a popular floating plant that provides shade and helps control algae by absorbing nutrients. Curly Leaf is a more compact variety of water lettuce. The leaves are ruffled. Curly Leaf Water lettuce prefers some shade in hotter climates. Water temperatures must be 65 degrees when adding this floating pond plant to your water garden. Water lettuce does not tolerate freezing temperatures or cold water. When exposed to cold, the leaves will turn white and rot. A popular choice for water gardens that are located in shade or part shade.
